When reversed, the front of the house continues to face in the same direction, but rooms that were on the right side of the house as you face it will now be on the left, and vice versa. Often views or site characteristics make it either advantageous or necessary to build a house in the reverse of the way the plans were originally drawn. It has an upper level, providing a multi–use space or an additional room for storage.
The semi–detached garage has a shop space attached, and a small space for wood storage. The basement plan holds a guest room, a recreation/TV room, a full bath, a workshop, and storage for wine. There are also two more bedrooms, a full bath, and a computer room on this floor. The master bath features both a shower and a tub, and a small staircase to a 360 square foot loft, which may be used as an office or for storage. The upper floor has the master bedroom suite located under the slopes of the roof, which contains two skylights for lots of natural light. On the other side of the kitchen is a walk–in pantry, a half bath, a laundry room, and a mudroom with room for storage.
An arched opening leads to the family room, which features a stone hearth. The kitchen is spaciously designed, with a large center island. To the left of the foyer are the open kitchen and dining spaces. The away room is to the right, and straight ahead is a hallway leading to a screened porch on the rear (view) side of the house. A built–in niche gives the foyer a nice touch. Upon entering the foyer, a bench invites you to sit down to take off shoes and coats.
